In the 1980s, Dr Esther Mahlangu carried the tradition onto the world stage, painting BMW Art Cars and museum walls from Paris to New York.
Today the geometry lives on murals, sneakers, and airport lounges — but the vocabulary still belongs to the women of KwaNdebele.
